Ok, so first off, I am going to list my events going on this week. Thursday, I am going to the SPCA to do my first video. Saturday morning I have the town parade where I will be riding with the mayor. Yay!! After that we have the town rodeo which lasts all weekend. I will be helping out at Lions park after the parade. Now, with events out of the way, I finally got my sash!! So excited!! To me, the sash is the clincher on the whole thing. It is basically the item that says you are doing this, this is for real. I can’t even begin to describe how I was feeling when I opened the envelope and put it on. Oh, on the third weekend of June I believe we are having our next garage sale where I will be collecting donations for the SPCA, Free the Children and sponsorship money for things I need to buy. Come on down as we have tons of stuff!!

Ok, as you can tell from the title, I got my hair redone!! As most of you know, my hair was blonde before but now it is a dark brown!! I will make sure to upload pictures soon but I can’t right now as I can’t find my darn camera, haha. I can’t wait to see what the dress looks like with this hair colour! Tomorrow, after my blood test (Ugh!) and maybe a bit of school I finally get to do the shopping I need for clothes to wear in Toronto, my formal dress and shoes to go with it of course. I will also be adding a couple videos here soon so keep an eye out for those, as they will show my town and part of my platform. Now, I need to get studying as my finals are in barely 3 weeks!! Eek!

“Why is it that as a culture, we are more comfortable seeing two men holding guns than holding hands?” ~Ernest Hemingway. As you might have figured out by now, this post is about gay rights. I have always been a huge supporter as I have many friends that either support it or are part of it, whether they be bi, les or gay. I just cannot see why so many people freak out when they see two men, two fully grown men who can make their own decisions, kissing or hugging, even just holding hands. It makes no sense!! You see two women on the streets holding hands, maybe kissing and people go “Aww, that is adorable!!” or “That is so sweet that they love each other!” I don’t see the difference. Is there something wrong with guys liking guys? It sure seems like less people have a problem with girls liking girls. Maybe it is just because women have been played as frail and dainty over the centuries and men are supposed to be tough. Maybe people are just confused because it makes them think about themselves and if they are actually gay/les. We may honestly never know. People say that we need to make love and peace, not war and violence. By shunning couples of the same sex, are we not going against what we have been saying? Peace and love mean accepting everybody and getting along. There is still racism out there. There is abuse against different sexualities. Before any wars can even stop, I think our society needs to buck up and get over themselves a bit. They have an idea that this is right, that is wrong. Now they are getting doubtful and doubts make people scared. Then they react like this, doing protests against gay rights and marriage, even hurting innocent teens like Matthew Sheppard. If you don’t know who I am talking about, look up the Matthew Sheppard story. I honestly could not watch the movie on him because I was breaking down in tears. I just cannot believe some people would stoop to that level just because of one tiny little difference!! Are we not all supposed to be equal? Men and women are equal, why not couples such as two men. I really hope this makes somebody out there that reads this think.

Ok, I may not be in the best of moods the next few days. I haven’t been feeling well so I am going on monday to get my blood tested. My first ever blood test. In my entire freaking life. Let me let you in on a little secret……I can’t stand needles. I have never gotten them in my entire life except for freezing. At least until a couple months ago. I was in Calgary visiting my dad, step-mother and my best friend Emily who I have mentioned a couple times. Em and I decided to go to the pool for my last day, just a couple hours before my flight. Well, with my awesome luck, I slit my leg open, 5 inches long-1.5 inches across and right to the bone. I was cool with that. It will leave an awesome scar (Which it has) and the blood doesn’t freak me out. So I go to the hospital in the ambulance, calmer than my parents, friends or even the EMT’s. I get called in a while later and a nurse checks out the wound, washes it and applies some topical freezing which, by the way, burns as if a hot coal touched my skin. By that time, I was a bit nervous. I go into the next room where I will get more freezing and the stitches. That is where the needles come in. I start crying and have a full blown panic attack. Lets just say, not a pretty sight, especially with my dad, 5 nurses and a doctor trying to hold me down and still. I got 6 needles, not including the tetanus shot I got right after. Cue another freaking panic attack. Of course I was fine afterwards and was texting every single person I knew on the face of the earth but it was still a bad experience. Now you might see why I am not exactly excited about a huge needle being shoved into my body and about three tubes of blood being taken from my body. Does anybody happen to have some ideas or advice on how to make this easier? How much will the needle hurt? Even what to eat/drink afterwards would be great. Now I need to get some sleep as I am dead tired (Like I always am nowadays) and I will try to blog tomorrow.

P.S- Don’t look at the picture if you don’t like blood

Ok, starting to get really busy here haha!! The competition is getting closer and nerves are starting to get a bit harder to handle honestly. I have started doing more sponsorship to keep myself busy so here is the list I know of. I am helping out with a garage sale this weekend at my place, there is the Warman rodeo in June and I will be travelling to a couple neighboring cities to do some other smaller things. I can’t wait to work on different things, especially my dress. I found a different one so I have to decide haha!! It is a bit hard as they are both absolutely gorgeous. Anyways, I need to get to work. I will post soon!!

Hey everyone. So, guess what! I am sick, tired and worn out haha. Not having the best week because of it.  Anyways, I finally got my first few papers in for the competition. Anyone every heard of Eyes Set To Kill? Well, that is the band which I am taking a song from to sing at the pageant. I have been practicing non-stop!! I am starting to really get into a dress search so that will be occupying a lot of time as well as doing fundraising. I am thinking of getting a catering company and holding a dance to raise money for Free the Children. I still need to think of what to do for the SPCA but I will figure something out. I’m starting to get more support now which is really helping bring my mood up. Stress is a huge mood killer haha! Anyways, I think I will go pass out now and try to get some stuff done before I do. Talk to you next time when I post.

Ok, I am starting this post off with a question. If you wear glasses or contacts, which do you prefer? I was at the eye doctors today and I am having trouble deciding if I should stay with contacts or go with glasses. Ugh, so confusing!! Anways, I am sort of worried about my cat Tigger. Jinxy is completely fine haha but he is getting to be 15. I may take him to the vet here soon just in case. I swear he has gone blind already. Tori, my little albino cornsnake, is doing pretty well and just shed her skin again. Last weekend I visited my dads in Calgary, Alberta. I got to see my new room, decorated in mostly red and black of course, as well as hang out with my best friend Emily again. I went dress shopping but didn’t really find anything this time. On Saturday I may head down to Regina. There is a nice store there to look for a formal gown annnd I can possibly squeeze in a date with a certain somebody. Anyways, I want to get back to my movie, Harry Potter and The Philosophers Stone, and I will post again soon.

Ok, I actually have time now to put a post haha! I was pretty busy after my last post, doesn’t help that I am getting sick again, ugh. I visited my dads again (parents are divorced) and got to hang out with my best friend Emily who went dress shopping with me. I still haven’t found the perfect dress for the competition but I am getting there haha! If you live anywhere near Warman, Saskatchewan make sure to come to the rodeo in June. I will be there doing sponsorship for people and answering questions.

Ugh, sorry for not posting lately guys!! Been a bit busy with homework. Other than that, not much has been going on except for a special day today….. International Harry Potter Day!! Yay!! As you could have guessed, I am a huge HP fan, right down to my Slytherin robes and Ash wand. A couple weeks ago I visited Florida. While I was there, I went to Disneyworld and Universal Studios. The best part was Adventure Island though as I got to go to HP world!! I swear, that is the only time I have had a real fan girl moment. I suggest if you want to go anywhere, go there. The buildings are incredible, the Dragon Challenge, a 2 car coaster which is shaped like dragons and race around eachother, is fast and crazy! The food is to die for (As well as the Butterbeers and Honeydukes sweets like Chocolate frogs!) and the tour through the castle is breathtaking. I’ll let you in on a little secret. I hope when I am older to actually give my kids the entire HP experience, mailing them their acceptance letter, taking them to Kings Cross then to HP World where we can go wild. May be just a dream, but I hope I can make it into a reality. Anyways, lots to do so I’m out!!
